Stop Rolling Over — Fix Your Front Shoulder Direction 💥
Oct 23, 2025

If you’re constantly rolling over, this might be why — and it’s an easy fix once you understand how your front shoulder controls the swing.
Watch It in Action:
Why This Matters
- 💥 Rolling over usually happens when your hands cut across your body.
 - ⚾️ When your front shoulder opens too early, it sets your swing off-line.
 - 🧠 The shoulder leads the direction — if it opens, the barrel cuts across too.
 - 🎯 Keeping the shoulder closed longer lets your hands work through the ball, not around it.

How to Practice It
Try this easy feel to stop rolling over 👇
1️⃣ Start at launch — balanced, stride down, eyes on the pitcher.
2️⃣ Keep your front shoulder aimed toward the middle of the field.
3️⃣ Feel your hands travel along the batter’s box line (straight, not across).
4️⃣ Drive through the ball, finishing with your barrel pointing toward center.
5️⃣ Do 2 x 10 reps off the tee, grading each swing ✅ or ❌ for flying open vs. staying closed
💡 Coaching Cue: Think “stay closed, swing through center.” You’ll instantly feel more whip and control.
👀 Want to make sure you’re actually staying closed through contact?

The Result
- ✅ Straighter, more consistent line drives
 - 💪 Stronger extension through the zone
 - 🚀 Barrel stays in the zone longer = more hard contact
